DBFS are seeking 4 Fund Accountants to join a market leading Third Party Administrator based in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the periodic production and reviewing of accurate valuations & associated deliverables to meet client deadlines.

We are ideally looking for candidates that have previously had experience of daily pricing and/or accounting for unit trusts, OEIC’s or Life and Pension investment schemes desirable

Responsibilities

• Oversee the valuation of Life & Pension Funds and ensure that all relevant checks to the funds’ NAV’s have been made. This will also include checks against funds’ benchmarks and reasonability reports.
• Review and oversee the stock and cash reconciliations
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports
• Report and analyse breaches and propose remediation
• Ensure that all accounting events, such as trades, income and expenses are updated within the ledger and validated
• Identify and implement process’s and product improvements, documenting where necessary

Specific Qualifications/Skills required:

• Numeracy / Literacy skills
• PC literate & competent in use of spreadsheets and word processing
• In depth understanding of fund administration.

Level of Education:

• Accountancy or Business degree (preferred)
• Obtained or studying towards obtaining a professional accountancy qualification would be useful, but not essential.

Senior Risk Analyst required by Global Asset Management client

DBFS have an urgent requirement for a Senior Risk Analyst to join a Global Asset Management client based in Central London. The successful candidate will take responsibility for monitoring and analysing the risk on a variety of equity funds, hedge funds, fund of funds and funds of hedge funds.

The aim of this role is to ensure that fund risk profiles reflect client expectations. This will be achieved by regularly working with fund managers to help them manage risk either through direct 1-2-1 meetings or through the oversight meetings.

The nature of the role demands a strong understanding of asset pricing and risks and an ability to communicate effectively with fund managers, senior managers and other business support functions such as sales and marketing. A strong understanding of fund risks and risk systems as well as the strengths and weaknesses of them is a must.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

•Produce and analyse risk attribution reports for assigned funds (Hedge Funds, Equities, FoF/FoHF) for use by the CRO, Head of Investment Risk and Fund Managers.
• Highlight areas of concern, by providing oversight reporting for all assigned funds to senior management teams
• Carry out presentations to prospective and existing clients on investment risk
•Contribute to the development of fund risk analysis
•Produce ad hoc reports for the business, focusing on risk issues in the prevailing markets.
•Assist IT to develop new systems and enhance existing feeds. This will include investigating the data requirements for new instrument types, sourcing this data and testing the risk output.

Technical Skills & Qualifications Required

• IMC and/or CFA is desirable
• Strong background working in the risk management function with an asset management company
• Significant risk management experience, particularly extensive equities and probably hedge fund risk experience is highly desirable

Technical skills:

• Strong quantitative skills
• In depth knowledge of derivatives
• Knowledge of the equity funds, hedge funds markets (styles/strategies) and multi-manager.
• Detailed knowledge of VaR, tracking error and stress testing methodologies together with an appreciation of their limitations
• Working knowledge of Barra Aegis, RiskMetrics, style research, finanalytica or similar systems beneficial.

Front Office Controls Officer required by London based Global Asset Management client

The purpose of the Front office controls role is to help our client continually increase and strengthen controls in the front office. This role consolidates a number of control related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the management and coordination of the process mapping activities to ensure that process maps are complete.
• Maintain the Investment Floor’s policy and procedures manuals. This will also include regularly updating policies, management of the relevant electronic repository, communicating and circulating changes and updates, explanation of the implication of various policies where relevant, liaise with other functions to ensure relevant updates and ongoing general improvements. As part of this responsibility the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the storage and dissemination of policies and procedures is efficient and effective.
• Ensure that the evidential processes implemented by management are successfully operating. This will involve ensuring oversight of signoff where staff are not completing regular reviews and catch up draw attention to and manage issues
• Own the risk and controls assessment process in respect of the Front Office and work with the Operational Risk department to ensure it is properly maintained and updated.
• Provide support in the maintenance of desk rules folders for all desks. This includes ensuring that the desk rules folder reviews are updated and are undertaken. Desk heads will need to be supported in the maintenance of these files and version control. It will be the responsibility of this role to improve the operation of the above processes using electronic tools for distribution, implementation and review process.
• The role will include involvement in all controls related projects. It will also involve initiating projects to improve the controls environment on an ongoing basis. An initial project will involve the implementation of a technical signoff process to make the weekly and monthly signoff more efficient and improve the capability of carrying out reviews on an ongoing basis.
• The successful candidate will need to own the front office process and ensure that the battle boxes, the business impact analyses, the call cascades and Department recovery plans are maintained and up to date on a regular basis.

In this role a candidate would build the Flex UI and supporting server side services that allow clients to trade with the bank; the application will also be utilised in the front-office of the FX business. In particular the system will include pricing, trading, and order management.

This development role is in the Investment Bank on one of the key FX applications and will require the candidate to work with business analysts and the business. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of financial systems, with knowledge of Foreign exchange, interest rates and credit derivatives. Client Change Business Analyst urgently required by Tier 1 IB – London – 6 month contract – £550 a day

The primary focus of this role is to provide both analysis and delivery expertise for client changes, as well as working on small internal changes and small projects.

The position requires strong analytical skills, quality documentation, good planning and organisational skills & strong communication.

Key responsibilities will be to analyse and deliver Client Change and minor enhancements to the timescales.

Business Analyst – Cash & FX expert – required by Tier 1 Investment Bank on a 6 month contract – £550 a day

DBFS have an urgent requirement for a Business Analyst with strong Cash & FX to join a Industry leading tier 1 Investment Bank on an initial 6 month contract role.

The successful candidate would be expected to liaise with internal and external clients to elicit and verify business requirements and then document these requirements using modelling techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Work to the dates and quality standards as specified in the project annual project management plan, this will include updating and tracking of project plans
• Liaise with team members and business members to ensure all issues are resolved in an effective manner.
• Ensure that all support documentation is maintained and that new functionality is handed over in an efficient way.
• Ensure where necessary that Project Manager and the Service Delivery Manager are informed of progress and issues
• Present to the business of the initial and ongoing impact analysis and support the business in resolving issues. There will also be a need to amend business processes and testing.
• Create test plans for changes to Cash Forecasting and FX Execution applications.
• Execute test scripts for System Testing and provide support to Business teams during the UAT phase acting as the correspondent between the Development and Business teams.
• Manage testing progress and defect management, escalating any potential slippage to the Project Manager.

Technical expertise required

• A background in Business Analysis experience in a structured environment with a proven track record of business process modelling.
• Trade related FX & cash forecasted FX processing knowledge
• Strong understanding of the complete trade lifecycle, including Equities and FX.
